Tonight we’re having our end-of-the-school-year pool party at the home of one of our students. Funny thing is I almost forgot to make an obnoxiously large thank you card for the students to sign.
This is very important to do because:
1. I reminds the students to be thankful
2. It reminds them we are guests
3. It shows the host home we didn’t take their generosity for granted
I never make a big show of presenting the card. I usually leave it in a place for them to find. I like that because it’s a “warm fuzzy” after we’ve gone home. I do, however, make sure the students verbally thank the hosts at some point during the event.
Everybody is better for showing gratitude. It helps to plan it out ahead of time.
